Ann's Miniatures

I make miniature houses, room boxes and 1/4 scale scenes, and consider myself a "Forever Newbie."  There is so much to learn and ideas to share.  Below are pictures of my work and brief descriptions.  I hope to also create a place for "how to" for things I've learned along the way, with pictures and instructions, from aging, to creating thatching for cottages, my crude attempts at mold making, little tricks, as well as big flops! I hope others will contribute to.  I would love to meet other's online, who like me, live in this "mini" world.

I can twist trees in the dark, this is not an accomplishment nor a guarantee of good results, ha (I get up before dawn-something to do with menopause I'm told)  The house is so peaceful as I listen to music on my earphones.  There is something about being alone in the middle of the night...no phones, no worry over what you "should" be doing, and you can't see how much you've let the house go.

The two scenes below are both copies of artists I admire so much and the instructions were in magazines.
(more details when I locate those blasted magazines and spell the names correctly.)

COTTAGES
This is The Lace Maker's Cottage, and is in 1/4 scale.  My family is from Ireland and I'm facinated with the early architecture and thatching techniques.
Well, that's my start at blogging, more to come.  I can't wait to see other sites and blogs now that I've entered the world of computers. For anyone that does look, thank you.  I'd love to hear from you and see your work.
